Job Description: 

The main role will be to assist the current ADOS in improving teaching standards, managing the student experience and developing the curriculum to respond to the changing pattern of needs.

In addition the post-holder will be responsible for improving the administration processes and procedures in the academic team including the running of Cambridge examinations.

Primary responsibilities –

  • Academic induction of new students including testing as required
  • Respond to student queries, complaints and problems on a regular basis
  • Encourage teachers to engage their students in their learning and help them develop effective study skills
  • Ensure all class paperwork is completed on time by teachers and class folders kept up to date
  • Meet requirements of the British Council and IHWO in terms of learner progression and student engagement in the learning process and ensure evidence is systematically recorded
  • Co-ordinate progress/academic reviews, end of term testing and student progression
  • Assist current ADOS with IHA observation policy, after appropriate training
  • Help to organise/plan monthly staff development sessions, encourage teachers to get involved and to invest in their own personal development
  • Help with recruitment and induction of new teachers, after appropriate training
  • Take overall responsibility for the organisation of the intranet, ensuring it is efficient, user-friendly and kept up-to-date
  • Assume overall responsibility for the efficient running of all Cambridge examinations, after appropriate training
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times
  • Liaise regularly with current ADOS to ensure smooth operational management
  • Carry out any additional tasks as required

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) and includes up to 15 teaching hours per week, including twilight/evening classes as needed. Flexibility and willingness to stay late/respond to unexpected problems/developments is required.

Initial EFL Qualification Required: 
CELTA, or
Trinity TESOL, or
IH Certificate, or
Or other equivalent qualification
Higher EFL Qualification Required: 
DELTA, or
Trinity Diploma
Additional Skills Preferred: 
Previous supervisory/management experience preferred
