Job Description:

We are currently looking for bright, energetic, enthusiastic people over 18 years old to work as camp leaders and assistants in our summer children’s camps, day courses and half-day courses located in and around the local area.

You should have experience of organising children’s activities and sports.  You must be super-human, resilient, patient, have boundless energy and be able to cope on your own initiative. These courses can be very tiring and stressful, so a good sense of humour is essential.  The course leader and assistant will have to work closely together, accommodation is shared and you must therefore be a ‘team player’ and easy to get on with.

Some knowledge of Italian is preferable although not essential as all of our courses are full-immersion.  If you do not speak Italian, we will partner you with someone who does, just in case of emergencies.

Some Italian lessons will be included during your training week (5 - 9 June).  Although this won't be enough for you to attain mother-tongue level, hopefully they will help you day-to-day, when you are out-and-about!

We have a range of course types including.

  • Country Camp (residential): based at B&Bs deep in the countryside (so no sleeping under canvas!) and a maximum of 12 children at each.  Some, but not all, of the locations have swimming pools.  Camps start every Monday morning and run until the following Saturday lunchtime.  Each camp will have two staff members, and together you will have joint responsibility for the children.  The focus for the children is to enjoy a natural environment, away from computers and technology, taking part in fun activities and games in English.  The end of each week culminates in the children performing a short show for their parents on the Saturday morning before they go home.  Country Camp is intended to be a stepping stone towards study abroad courses.
  • Day Camp (non-residential): as Country Camp above but, as the name suggests, daytimes only, and the children return home to their families at the end of each day.  Day Camps are particularly popular with younger children.  At the end of the week, they perform a short show for their parents.  Day Camp is intended to be preparation towards Country Camp courses.

DBS/CRB check required and a First Aid qualification preferred.  References will also be necessary.

Local airport: Ancona (RyanAir)

Interviews will be via skype.

‘I am loving it, it’s been great and an amazing experience!’ Gemma, June 2014

‘The experience at the Country Camp was absolutely amazing!  It was fantastic from start to finish and I'd love to do it again!’ Arianna, July 2014

‘I am loving it, tiring but worth it!’  Abi, June 2015

Additional Skills Preferred:
Experience with children, organising sports and activities. Must be EU national and mother-tongue level English.
